Endeavour Energy is currently conducting a pilot program to assess the effectiveness of Fault Anticipation technology, specifically focusing on Early Fault Detection (EFD™) units installed on selected distribution feeders. These units are being closely monitored to evaluate their ability to identify potential faults before they lead to significant issues, particularly in reducing bushfire risks. Following initial successes, the trial is being expanded in 2023, with additional EFD™ units deployed across the network
The results of this expanded trial will inform a final decision on whether to implement this technology more broadly across Endeavour Energy’s entire network, aiming to enhance safety and reliability in bushfire-prone areas.
