Southern California Edison (SCE) has integrated IND Technology’s Early Fault Detection (EFD) system into its 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan to bolster the safety and reliability of its electrical infrastructure. The EFD system provides continuous monitoring for early signs of faults, such as damaged conductors or compromised components, which could potentially trigger wildfires. By detecting these issues in real-time, SCE can proactively mitigate risks, thereby significantly reducing the likelihood of wildfire incidents and enhancing overall network resilience in high-risk areas.
